They snagged on the exhaust pipes. These mount on the pushrod end of the rockers and stop oil squirting out over the manifolds. I did have some problems getting the engine to move forward off the rear trans mount until I realized that the upper bolts on the mount needed to be removed as it was also an attachment point for the exhaust mount. They are metal and don&#8217;t swivel all that easily when the engine\/trans are on the hoist. Now I&#8217;ll get the fluids out of the trans and get it ready to go the Earl&#8217;s trans shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next: replacing the cam and lifters on the 305 before it goes back to the original owner. His son wants to put it in their International Scout when they do a restoration on it.
