The hinges came out fine, but when I put the paint to the seat bodies it dissolved the primer and wrinkled. It seems the Tremclad primer is not compatible with this vinyl paint. So it&#8217;s back to sanding and prepping again. I tested a patch on the inside of the body with regular Duplicolor paint and then the vinyl paint. It works fine. So I&#8217;ll have to re-prime the seats with regular automotive primer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kgworks.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_4018.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/kgworks.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_4018.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5728\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kgworks.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_4018.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/kgworks.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_4018-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kgworks.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_4018-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A little spare time so I went on to clean up the exhaust manifolds &#8211; they got a good coating of oil when I adjusted the valves and didn&#8217;t put the oil clips on the rocker arms!  I&#8217;m also cleaning up the exhaust pipes and will paint them with VHT high temp black engine paint. For the price of the duals ($500) you&#8217;d think they&#8217;d be stainless. They&#8217;ll rust up very quickly unless I get some paint on them.
