The lockup is still hunting and not dropping out easily on acceleration even with the switch turned CW to it’s limit of 1.5 turns.

The vacuum is being taken from the base of the carb – the hose crossing low down to the base of the carb. I’ll move it to the main vacuum port at the back of the intake manifold.

I’ve run it from the switch (behind the aluminum bracket on the left) to the vacuum lines for other devices in the car. But still not luck. So now I’ll try by running it directly to the vacuum port so there is not chance that the vacuum is affected by other than what is happening inside the intake manifold.

Using a Y connector I joined the vacuum switch directly to the intake manifold.
Even so with the vacuum switch set back to 1 turn CW it is still hunting on moderate speeds.

It’s been awhile, maybe a year or more since I worked on the lockup and vacuum switch and while digging around on the internet for ideas I saw a vacuum delay switch and realized I had forgotten all about it. The main use of the switch is to stop the hunting at moderate speed when the lockup wants to kick in.

I installed it in the line to the intake manifold. Now to get a test run in and see how it works.
Ran a test run and all seems OK now:-)
